hypnotherapy phobias

Many people suffer from irrational fears or phobias. These types of fears are situations where a person harbors irrational fears about something that, in reality, creates little or no danger. Phobias often develop during childhood and become aggravated during adulthood (although they can also develop in adult years). People often carry them around for decades, unaware of the fact that they can easily be eliminated using hypnotherapy for phobias.

When someone has a phobia, they feel as though they have no control over those feelings, in spite of knowing on a conscious level that the fear is irrational, which makes it harder to understand.

Phobias become part of the body’s defense system and therefore bring out fear or anxiety which unfortunately results that people built their life ‘around’ that phobia by avoiding situations or surroundings.

There are different types of phobias:

  • Natural environment phobias: fear of heights or fear of water;
  • Animal phobias: fear of spiders or dogs;
  • Fear of blood or injuries;
  • Situational phobias: fear of flying the dentist.

Regardless the type of phobia, they are all formed the same way in the mind which can result in having unwanted physical symptoms.

Common symptoms include:

  • Heart Palpitations;
  • Nausea;
  • Dizziness;
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Chest pain;
  • Hot/cold flashes;
  • Numbness or tingling sensation;
  • Fainting or losing complete control of oneself.

In the worst case phobias can trigger panic attacks which can be very  distressing.

how hypnotherapy can help with phobias

Phobias can be treated very effectively with hypnotherapy. The thoughts and fears are in relation with anything programmed in the subconscious mind. By using hypnosis we will reprogram the subconscious mind to get rid of the negative association. It doesn’t matter what type of phobia you are dealing with.
